Mahalo for your interest in getting to know me better. I have my Master’s in Social Work with a focus on international and community development and launched my career of nonprofit service seventeen years ago in the Midwest. Then, I moved to the East Coast and worked in public health—specializing in cancer education, outreach, gerontology and children’s services. After contributing to the O‘ahu nonprofit sector for almost a decade, I moved to Maui in 2018. My goal is to work to have a positive impact on our islands through ChangeWorks, an independent consulting firm I am lucky to be a managing partner in with my dear friend and colleague, Heather Pierucki. Our goal is to create impactful change within our community.
Prior to this, I served as Executive Director of Hawai‘i Nature Center on O‘ahu and Maui where I led a staff of nearly 30 and an operating budget of $1 million. I have held a position as Youth and Elder Services Manager for Waikiki Health and Clinical Operations Director for Gregory House Programs where I worked in the trenches with individuals living with mental health, substance abuse, and a diagnosis of HIV.
I currently live on Maui and serve as the Vice President of the Maui Soroptomist Club and as a board member for Lahaina Canoe Club. I share my life with my son, Kaimakana, and we love spending our spare time creating outdoor adventures together, mauka to makai.
I am deeply passionate about identifying, creating, and implementing impactful systems changes within our Hawai‘i community for those that serve our most vulnerable populations through advocacy, cultivating collaboration, and identification and securing of funding streams aligned in mission. After serving in the non profit sector for almost 20 years, doing everything from direct service to human resources and serving as an executive director, I hope to leverage the breadth and depth of the experiences I have gained to support the needs of your agency utilizing my strengths to create a more cohesive safety net for our community.
My philosophy is to truly take the time to get to know the inner workings of your agency, become a part of it, and find the most meaningful, ways to leverage your existing resources to create more mission impact.
